That this one ever got written and approved is beyond belief.

In 2005, Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero were embroiled in a feud that took a very odd turn when Latino Heat began involving Rey's family, alleging that he had a relationship with Rey's wife years before, which resulted in Rey's son Dominik being born. Eddie now wanted his son back.

So, Rey and Eddie decided that the way to determine the parentage and future raising of a child was through a ladder match. Hanging above the ladder was a briefcase with papers that 'guaranteed' custody of Dominik.

Much like with the infamous Judy Bagwell On a Forklift match, a family relationship and lifelong bonds, were to be determined by wrestling. Never mind court, lawyers, medical testing or what the child wanted, we're going to settle who the gets to be dad by beating the crap out of each other and climbing a ladder.

There were some really disturbing aspects to this angle. During the match, the camera kept cutting to the worried, confused face of young Dominik, who was sitting in the crowd with a 'social worker' ready to award him to the winner. Vicki Guerrero, Eddie's real wife, interfered in the match, adding more family drama. Michael Cole's creepy line 'Rey Mysterio wins custody of his son!'

At least we got a decent match from two of WWE's best high-flyers out of this mess.
