After what felt like years, the feud between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin culminated in a Falls Count Anywhere match at the 2020 Royal Rumble, which saw 'The Big Dog' score a victory decisive enough to end the rivalry altogether. By the end of the same week, though, the two men were at each other's throats once again.

Vince must have gotten a kick out of the toilet humor from the bout at the Rumble because, by the time SmackDown rolled around, Reigns and the Usos were slated to square off against Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode in a 'Loser Eats Dog Food' tag match.

Prior, Corbin and his gang embarrassed Reigns by covering him in dog food during an episode of SmackDown. This led to a dog food theme for the following weeks, consisting of gross visuals nobody asked for and threats no adult would ever make to another adult. It was as though McMahon replaced his writing staff with a group of five-year-olds.

The literal take on 'The Big Dog' moniker was enough to turn off viewers, but many expected WWE to eventually shy away from the childish behavior to end the multi-month feud.

Instead, WWE doubled-down and concocted a disgusting stipulation match that wasn't meant for grown-ups and was on too late for children. Fortunately, someone must have eventually convinced McMahon into giving the gimmick up, as for a while, it seemed as though it was only going to get worse.
