10 Totally Gross Modern WWE Storylines

While a feud between Bobby Lashley and Rusev was definitely something fans wanted to see, how it happened left a bit to be desired. The two big men could have clashed out of pure competition or maybe even a championship, but instead, WWE decided that (much like the feud with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae) the best way to put them together was to have them fight over Lana.

To see Rusev and Bobby trade fists, fans had to endure weeks of Lashley and Lana getting a little too close in front of the cameras, whether that meant obnoxious sexual innuendos or slipping under the covers.

For the few redeeming moments, such as the wedding segment, there were plenty more gross visuals (not to mention a misguided LGBTQ+ angle). After all the absurd and nasty scenarios, the feud never had a payoff and simply disappeared once Rusev was granted his release from WWE. Lashley would go on to admit there probably wasn't a conclusion to the storyline. Although he admitted having fun trolling the fans, not even he knew what the feud's end-goal was meant to be.
