10 Toughest Wrestling Tag Teams Of All Time

8. Doom

Originally entering WCW at Halloween Havoc 1989 as masked mercenaries managed by Woman hell bent on destroying the Steiner Brothers, Doom were booked as two legitimate, imposing figures that were to be feared. Doom consisted of former college football star Ron Simmons (whom is the only person to appear on this list twice) and former WWE star 'The Natural' Butch Reed. After debuting as monster heels, Initially, Doom found themselves floundering in the mid-card losing to The Road Warriors, Steiner Brothers and even the Samoan Swat Team. Things did not change for Doom until they were forced to unmask following a loss to the Steiner Brothers in February 1990. Upon being embarrassed by the Steiners, Doom took on manager Teddy Long and a switch was flipped and Doom began to dominate. After winning the tag team belts from The Steiner Brothers, Doom proceeded to overrun a very talented WCW tag team division which included the Midnight Express, the Steiners, the Southern Boys, and various iterations of the 4 horseman, including Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. Eventually Doom would drop the belts to the Fabulous Freebirds in 1991, and it was during this match that Butch Reed would turn on his partner Ron Simmons, turning him face and setting him on his way to capturing the WCW championship a year later. Similar to the Blade Runners, Doom's run did not last long at less than two years. However, their dominant run with the belts and impressive power moves make them one of the toughest teams of all time.
