10 Trades WWE & AEW Need To Make In 2022
5. Shinsuke Nakamura To AEW
Whether you choose to believe the current Intercontinental Champion's recently deleted tweet of "See you, my friends..." was aimed at his imminent departure or not, an eventual WWE exit seems to be an inevitable reality for The King of Strong Style.
And things started out so damn well for the former NXT Champion too. A strong developmental run was swiftly followed by a promising push heading into 'Mania 34 as he won the Royal Rumble en-route to challenging for AJ Styles' WWE Championship. But a lack of a repeat of their Wrestle Kingdom banger acted as the beginning of the end for Nak, with depressingly stale mid-card title runs being his apparent ceiling as long as he's signed with the big E.
There's no guarantee Nakamura would instantly revert back to being the sh*t kicking force of charismatic nature he'd been heading into his main roster spell should he end up in AEW someday. But judging from Bryan Danielson's return to world-class form in recent times, you'd likely be foolish to bet against The Artist recapturing his glory years in a string of absolute bangers against Elite opposition.
