10 Traditional Wrestling Elements WWE Completely Ignore
9. Focus On The Matches
How often does a match on WWE television play out which sees the announcers focus solely on the action inside the ring? No answers on a postcard required, it's not very common. In fairness, the WWE product is so busy nowadays, and there's so much going on, that the commentators perhaps have to keep on top of everything, but it's often at the expense of what fans are watching. On occasion, as long as a few moments can go by without the announcers even discussing the action before them. It's understandable that there are stories more important and more heavily featured than others, but what's the point in even showing matches if the people sat at ringside who are presenting it to you don't draw attention to it? It's simply not cool to have the announcers narrate on a completely separate issue, before suddenly calling a near fall and expecting fans to be excited. Yes, WWE like story-telling, that's all well and good, but it renders many of the bouts relatively meaningless, crapping on their own product. Compare this to when Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan would focus on what was in the ring, and it's like a different product altogether.
