10 UFC Fighter Comebacks Which Could Potentially Happen In 2020

6. Anthony Johnson

When former UFC Light Heavyweight title contender Anthony Johnson suddenly decided to call it quits after his loss to Daniel Cormier at UFC 210 in 2017, it's fair to say that fans were shocked by his decision.

Johnson still had an awful lot to give to MMA, yet here he was hanging up his fingerless gloves and turning his back on a sport he'd been so successful in for so long.

After retiring Johnson added on a whole heap of weight and genuinely resembled a power-lifter more than a Mixed Martial Artist. Sitting at 285lbs, Johnson's manager Ali Abdelaziz said they were even entertaining the idea of a comeback at Heavyweight in the future.

Now he's rested his body and mind, Johnson finally looks to be on his way back in 2020. He confirmed in March that he was walking around at 236lbs and that he plans on 'catching a lot of bodies' when he comes back, before adding 'It don’t matter if it’s Heavyweight or Light Heavyweight. I knock them all out, it don’t matter.'

He still hasn't re-entered the USADA testing pool, but he plans on doing so next month.

This return could lead to epic super-fights against the likes of Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. So, fingers crossed that Johnson stays fit and proves he still has a little more left in the tank.
