10 UFC Fighters Who Died This Past Decade

7. Kevin Rosier

Kevin Rosier was an accomplished kickboxer who is best known for competing in the pay-per-view that started it all back in 1993 — UFC 1.

In just the second fight in UFC history, Rosier defeated Kenpo Karate expert Zane Frazier via TKO with a series of punches and stomps to the back of the head, which were legal at the time.

He would advance to the semifinals of the tournament (pay-per-views were tournaments back in those days) where he was defeated by Dutch savateur, Gerard Gordeau.

Rosier would fight just once more for the promotion at UFC 4, where he would end up losing to Joe Charles via submission, in just 14 seconds. The UFC pioneer would finish his MMA career with a 2-6 professional record, before retiring in 2000.

Sadly, in April of 2015, the 53-year-old suffered a fatal heart attack.
