10 UFC Fighters Who Had Perfect Performances Inside The Octagon

2. Conor McGregor Vs. Eddie Alvarez - UFC 202

If you took a snapshot of Conor McGregor's career in the UFC, it would basically amount to one sensational highlight reel of devastating finishes and memorable moments. At the very top of those performances would have to be his UFC lightweight title victory over Eddie Alvarez.

On paper, Alvarez had everything needed to beat McGregor: good wrestling, outstanding boxing and a never-say-die attitude to fighting that meant he was a tough opponent for any lightweight to defeat. Despite the quite obvious weapons Alvarez had at his disposal, they truly weren't any match for McGregor, who was at his very best during this fight.

McGregor toyed with Alvarez, using his vastly superior boxing and distance management to pick apart the then champion with the sort of ease longtime MMA fans had never seen before. So many fans asked why Alvarez decided to stand and strike instead of taking McGregor down. It's not for lack of trying; it's because McGregor's execution of his game plan was so perfect that he simply wasn't able to.

Eventually, McGregor's strikes became too much and he landed his patented left hand, sending Alvarez tumbling to the canvas.
