10 UFC Rivals Who Seriously Can’t Stand Each Other
9. Chael Sonnen And Wanderlei Silva
When Chael Sonnen decided to take aim at the entire country of Brazil during his epic feud with Anderson Silva back in the early 2010's, he no doubt knew that 'The Spider' wasn't going to be the only native Brazilian Mixed Martial Artist who was offended by his comments.
Sure enough, Wanderlei Silva wasn't amused by Sonnen's derogatory comments on his homeland and when the pair were booked as rival coaches on the third season of the Brazilian version of The Ultimate Fighter the tension between the two was palpable.
Eventually the pair ended up brawling next to a cage. Silva was taken down by Sonnen after the pair had exchanged words and the fighters then had to be separated by their teams.
They were supposed to settle their differences at UFC 175, but both fighters backed out of the contest due to drug test related issues - Silva outright refused to take one and Sonnen quickly retired after failing his.
Sonnen eventually came out on top when the pair met in 2017 inside of a Bellator cage. However, Silva clearly shoved past the victor as he left the arena, showing that the bad blood was very much still there.
