10 UFC Stars Who Got Too Cocky
7. Cris Cyborg
Up until around mid-to-late 2018, Cris Cyborg had every right to call herself one of (if not the) baddest women on the planet.
She'd amassed a frightening 20-1 record and powered through (Ronda Rousey conqueror) Holly Holm and countless other talents in Strikeforce and EliteXC - including WWE's Shayna Baszler.
But, with that dominance came an all encompassing chip on her shoulder, that soon became unwarranted when she was obliterated by Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 - in just 51 seconds.
Instead of accepting her defeat with humility, Cyborg chose to attack the UFC for not allowing her to spend time with her adoring fans post-fight, stating that 'they just kicked me out of the cage' and that this treatment was 'very disrespectful.'
This lashing out at the company came to a head after her last contracted fight (a decision win over Felicia Spencer at UFC 240) when Cyborg decided to leave the promotion for Bellator, as she felt that UFC wasn't showing her the respect she deserved.
Cyborg also cited UFC's lack of female competition as another reason for her departure - in truly arrogant fashion - whereas Dana White revealed that if Amanda Nunes were to face the version of Cyborg he last saw in the Octagon, the result would not have favoured the former champ and even hinted at her desire to take some 'easier fights' in the twilight of her career.
However, Cyborg continues to rate herself and has since been seen talking up a possible cross-promotional rematch with Nunes.
