10 UGLIEST Wrestling Championships Ever
7. TNA X Division Championship (2013-2017)
Total Nonstop Action, IMPACT Wrestling, or Global Force Wrestling; call the brand what you wish, there's no debate to be had surrounding the skeptical title history of the Anthem-helmed promotion's title history.
In 2013, amidst an adverse period for the company that was dominated by Aces & Eights, poor pay across the board, and the looming exodus of a pantheon of household TNA legends, company executives seemingly thought the best way to amend this was to redesign the X Division title! Why pay AJ Styles, your top draw and whose spot you've never since filled, what he's due when you can instead waste company funds on an appallingly sordid-looking title?
Its sideways-oval, not too dissimilar to the Attitude Era's make of the Intercontinental title, appeared erroneous, as did the colossal X that barely sat atop it. The blue colour scheme was bewildering, too, given that the company didn't at the time make use of the cerulean colour. At least when, in 2015, the blue scheme was switched to green in conjunction with TNA's amalgamation with Jeff Jarrett's blighted GFW organisation, it was a leading colour of the company. It looked repugnant, but it was sensible.
The same cannot be said for the overall design of this title. Any cummerbund that deviates from the conventional layout will always face a more exhausting challenge when trying to get over than ordinary-looking championships.
