10 Unbelievable Omissions From The WWE Hall Of Fame
6. Lex Luger
Since the demise of WCW, WWE have often downplayed the importance of their competition, and certain superstars have been swept under the rug in the process.
One man that fits that description is Lex Luger.
Beginning his mainstream career in Jim Crockett Promotions, Luger made a huge name for himself in the NWA as 'The Total Package'. Feuding with some of the biggest stars of the day, the shredded superman squared off with the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat. He was also briefly a member of The Horsemen and won the NWA Tag and US Titles along the way, as well as headlining several PPV events, including Starrcade '88.
His two and a half year run in the WWF saw him main event SummerSlam and Survivor Series in '93 and also co-main WrestleMania X, jointly winning the Royal Rumble in between. His shocking appearance on the inaugural Nitro set the tone for the war that followed, while he was also part of the match that spawned the nWo at Bash at the Beach '96.
Add two WCW Championship reigns - as well as countless Tag, US and TV Title runs in WCW - and Luger's argument for induction is as strong as any.
Unfortunately, his demons outside the ring have been well-documented, and have stalled his induction dramatically.
