10 Unbelievably Awful WWE SummerSlam Matches

7. Diesel vs. Mabel (SummerSlam 1995)

The clumsy, uncoordinated Mabel should have ever been booked in the main event of SummerSlam 1995. There's a strong argument to suggest that he was only in the WWF Heavyweight Title hunt due to his size, Vince McMahon traditionally favouring larger-than-life performers. Size was really the only thing the big man had going for him, he was not an entertaining wrestler. The problem was, in '95 McMahon didn't have a whole load of options. Stars the size of The Undertaker, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were already in matches at SummerSlam, so Diesel needed a challenger. For that exact reason, Mabel won the King Of The Ring in June, and the wrestling world collectively slapped their foreheads. Even worse, Diesel vs. 'King' Mabel was signed to headline the Pay-Per-View. Rather predictably, the match failed to excite. Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels in an Intercontinental Title Ladder Match was incredible, and even Bret Hart vs. Isaac Yankem D.D.S and The Undertaker vs. Kama were better than the headline bout. Mabel injured Diesel's back during the main event, and was banished from working on top of the card from that point on.
