10 Underrated Wrestling Promos
7. Mankind – “We Are Going To Look Like Twins!”
Whether he's Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Mankind, or he's just being himself, Mick Foley is one of the best talkers that pro-wrestling has ever known.
Though he's known mostly for his "Cane Dewey" promo, his interview series with Jim Ross, and his anti-ECW promo, Foley has been pretty consistently fantastic on the stick. One particular promo of his that doesn't get quite enough love is this promo, which he cut on an April 1997 episode of Monday Night RAW.
Slightly disjointed yet teeming with Foley's signature intensity, he expertly encapsulated the psychotic nature of his character as he delivered each line of his monologue. He was somehow able to help the audience understand why his character was as psychotic as he was ("A real life, Undertaker, where my children wake up to the sounds of gunfire, where white trash bombard my house with rocks and chant, 'Die, Mankind, die!'"), but also use reverse psychology to promote his upcoming match with 'Taker at In Your House ("Don't order the pay per view! Because I will not be held morally responsible.").
Though he would ultimately lose the match, he certainly won the war of words.
