10 Underrated Wrestling Promos
6. Dean Ambrose – "Bryan Danielson's Head On A Stick"
Before there was Dean Ambrose, there was Jon Moxley.
Forget Ambrose's WWE labels - Moxley was the actual lunatic. Much like Mankind, Moxley's especially-lauded promos (like this one or this one) depicted him as a frantic individual marred by years of severe physical and emotional trauma. Still, Moxley was also adept at cutting more wrestling-based promos that didn't spend much (if any) time delving into his chaotically checkered past.
Of those wrestling-centric promos, this is the best of the bunch.
In a stellar performance that drew comparisons to Heath Ledger's Joker, Moxley explains that he doesn't care about money nor belts; the only thing he cares about is breaking Bryan Danielson (or Daniel Bryan, for our WWE-exclusive fans) and proving to everyone that he is the best wrestler in the world.
The best part of this promo is that you believe every word he's saying. You believe that he will break Danielson's bones to get what he wants, you believe that he wrestles to inflict pain rather than for any sort of compensation or recognition, but most importantly... you believe that these two are going to have a war in Milwaukee.
Those are the marks of a truly masterful promo.
