10 Undertaker WWE Dream Matches We'll Never See

A heart-breaking goodbye to The Undertaker, and his dream matches that never happened.

At Survivor Series 2020, the final bell tolled for the legendary Undertaker, closing the curtain on his 30 year WWE career as an active wrestler. The sure-to-be Hall of Fame member has given fans around the world countless unforgettable matches, surprising classics and the occasional disappointment. With his long-coming retirement now in the books, one can't help but think about the matches we didn't get to see him compete in.

Quite often, dream matches are better left on paper as an idea that shouldn't be explored. There is no finer recent example of this than The Undertaker vs. Goldberg, from the Super ShowDown event on 7 June 2019. The ill-fated match was doomed right from the beginning, with the high-octane Goldberg receiving a head injury early on. A few botched moves later (including a scary looking Jackhammer attempt) and a pin, The Undertaker emerged victorious.

Regardless, fans of wrestling in general and The Undertaker as a performer have to ponder the matches we didn't get to see. At the right time, any of the following matches would have been worthy of marquee status for WrestleMania, or to headline some of the less prestigious pay-per-view events.

10. Braun Strowman

Back in 2016 during the build up to WrestleMania 32, it was heavily rumoured that The Undertaker was set to face off against Braun Strowman, then-heavy hitter of The Wyatt Family. At the time, no one wanted to see it happen. Braun had minimal time in the ring at this point, and whenever he competed he came across as limited and cumbersome.

Fast forward a couple of months, and Braun Strowman became 'The Monster Among Men.' The big man was given more opportunity to showcase his power, presence, and surprising agility while running roughshod over the Raw roster. This is the incarnation of Braun Strowman that would have made an encounter with The Undertaker special.

While 'The Deadman's' ability was certainly diminishing at the time, this would have turned out to be a hard-hitting, physical affair. The inclusion of a No Holds Barred stipulation or similar would have been wise, allowing the duo to compensate for 'Taker's shortcomings.

This could have been a wonderful throwback to The Undertaker's days as a giant slayer, much earlier in his legendary WWE run.
