10 Underutilised WWE Stars Who Would Excel In Lucha Underground

1. Roman Reigns

Vince McMahon’s heart would shatter into a million pieces if Roman jumped to Lucha Underground, but it could help the wrestler become a bigger star than ever.

Maybe Roman gets burnt out for a bit, and hates the WWE schedule, so he leaves. He still wants to work, though, so he heads out West.

In The Temple, Reigns could be the top heel of the company. An alliance with Dario Cueto would draw incredible heat, and help him unleash all his frustrations against the fans who boo him every week. He would no longer be portrayed as a top babyface, meaning fans would likely lighten up on him...despite being a bad guy.

From an in-ring standpoint, Roman would be one of the least flashy members of the roster, but the man isn’t a bad worker. He could be carried to some great matches from a variety of opponents. Who wouldn't want to see Pentagon Jr. threaten to break his arm?

Perhaps a year in Lucha would open Vince’s eyes to how much more valuable Roman could be as a heel than as a babyface. The two could then reunite, glue Vince's heart back together, and the returning star may even have more respect from the fans for his time away. Yeah, it would never happen, but still, it would be fascinating to see what the Lucha Underground team could come up with for the troubled superstar.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
