10 Underutilised WWE Stars Who Would Excel In Lucha Underground

9. Kane

Maybe Dario Cueto has a long-lost second psychopath brother?

This may seem like a strange choice, but there are a couple reasons why Kane may actually be a better fit in Lucha Underground than in WWE. First off, Kane is a good actor. He can play a monster, he can do buddy comedy, and he can be a corporate hack, all to great effect. Despite his range, though, he’s insanely stale in his current home. He returned to the ring recently after months away, and fans were bored as soon as his music hit.

In Lucha Underground, the man would be given a fresh atmosphere to unleash hell. Give him a mask, and have him play a new character. He would be the biggest wrestler on the roster by far, and look more dominant than he has in years.

Kane is 49-years-old, meaning he’s not going to be keeping up in the ring with Dragon Azteca Jr. But he wouldn’t need to. He could be in hellacious battles with Mil Muertes and Matanza, and finally return to having an edge. In the PG world of WWE, there’s only so much you can do with a monster. In Lucha, there really are no limits, as their bad guys will even murder people! Kane would fit in well in that type of environment.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
