Heading into the 1988 Survivor Series, Mr Fuji was aligned with Ax and Smash of Demolition. Given the gist of this article though, you’d probably guessed that this wouldn’t be the case come the end of the show.

With Fuji watching on at ringside, he couldn’t resist getting closer to the action and climbing up onto the apron. Rather than helping his Demolition buddies though, Fuji instead pulled the ropes apart to send Smash crashing and burning to the outside after his attempt to bounce back off of them.

The ensuing ringside argument saw Smash counted out, before Fuji clubbed Ax with his signature cane, leaving us in no doubt about where his true allegiances lay.

Unfortunately for Fuji, he promptly received a bodyslam to the outside for his troubles, and so it looked as though the betrayal might have backfired. Until, of course, the Powers of Pain—who’d been on the opposing team to Demolition—helped Fuji back to his feet and unveil their secret alliance, sealing the deal on nicely-executed double turn for the two tag teams.
