10 Unexpected Betrayals At WWE Survivor Series
2. Paul Heyman (2002)
It’s not just the team-based matches that have enjoyed their fair share of double-crosses in Survivor Series' history, as Paul Heyman showed us in 2002. Clearly he’d learned a valuable lesson from the events of the previous year...
Beginning the night in the corner of Brock Lesnar, who would be defending his WWE Championship against the Big Show that evening, Heyman pulled off the old switcheroo as he not only prevented Lesnar from picking up the 1-2-3, but essentially turned the tide of the match and pave the way for Big Show to win.
After Lesnar had dished out an almighty F5 to the challenger, a successful defence looked to be on the cards. But with the referee’s hand coming down for the three count, Heyman dragged the official from the ring to keep the contest alive.
Naturally this incurred the wrath of Lesnar, but with Heyman in his sights he forgot about Big Show. Show capitalised with a series of chair shots to the distracted champ, followed by a chokeslam onto the steel to secure an underhanded victory.
