10 Unexpected WWE MVPs Of 2020 (So Far)
5. Sonya Deville
As we'll also note in a later entry, the recent storyline involving Otis, Mandy Rose, Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville has been a hit few can honestly admit they saw coming.
Otis and Mandy have obviously benefited from the love angle, but you could argue that Rose's former partner in crime has seen her stock rise higher than the lovebird's in the wake of Fire and Desire's implosion.
Producing some of the best work on the mic you'll see on either Raw, SmackDown or NXT, Deville has transformed from concerned pal into a p*ssed off ass-kicker in a matter of months, and it still feels like her engrossing war with Rose could rage on for a while longer without feeling stale.
Credit to both performers for making us care about what could have easily been a forgettable dissolution of the former Absolution. However, it's hard to look past Deville as being the breakout star of the team. If her last few months are anything to go by, 2020 could be a game-changing year for SmackDown's next big thing.
Could we see a Deville SmackDown Women's title run before the year is out?
