The finish of the 2005 Royal Rumble nodded to the 1994 edition, with Batista and John Cena tumbling to the floor at the same time. With no clear winner, the two rising stars restarted the match, with Batista eventually triumphing.

Only this time, it wasn’t booked that way. By sheer fluke, Cena and planned winner Batista took the plunge at the same time, leading to mass confusion. Cue Vince McMahon furiously stomping his way down the ramp, hurling his jacket to the floor, throwing himself into the ring - and somehow tearing both his quadricep muscles upon entrance.

It’s a sequence of events that defies medical science. McMahon caught his knees on the apron, leading to the fluke injury, and leaving the chairman sat on the mat as he dishes out instructions.

Undoubtedly this was incredibly painful, and props to Vince for managing to direct the new finish of the match on the fly. But the sight of the chairman utterly wrecked by the sheer power of his rage is undeniably hilarious. You could do that a thousand times and not end up damaging yourself again.
