10 Unique Pitches To Save Struggling AEW Stars

Some wrestlers in AEW are in desperate need of saving. Here's how to turn their careers around.

All Elite Wrestling has no shortage of talent. If anything, the roster is arguably too bloated, with many wrestlers who would otherwise be bigger fish in a smaller pond now struggling to fight for their share of the limelight as others pass them by and become bigger, more notable names.

For every Will Ospreay who lives up to the hype, there are a handful of others who felt like a big deal at one point, only to now be enhancement talent or sidelined entirely. And while not everyone can be at the top of the card, being on the low end is never anyone's dream.

Some just need a sustained push from Tony Khan. A few could go a long way with a heel or face turn, or being paired in a new team. Others would require a massive reboot of their characters. Some may even be beyond saving, but it's worth trying anything at this point, because there's nothing else left to lose.

Let's take a look at 10 different AEW stars who are fading into obscurity or spiraling out of control - and toss out some ideas of how they can be saved and perhaps brought back into prominence.

10. Lio Rush

Despite numerous attempts, Lio Rush has never quite clicked in AEW. He has fun matches, but it never goes anywhere beyond having him around as a good hand.

While AEW doesn't discriminate as much about height compared to Rush's time in WWE, it's still a hurdle that is hard to overcome, even for someone as gifted in high-flying maneuvers as The Man of the Hour.

One move that would help out not only Rush, but many others who are in a similar position, would be to create an AEW Cruiserweight Championship. AEW can replace one of its three midcard titles (TNT, International, and Continental) with this to open up a whole new field of competition and do something WWE hasn't done in several years at this point—another means for AEW to stand out and be an alternative, like it was originally intended to be.

On top of that, though it isn't the most unique idea, Rush should join The Hurt Syndicate, as has been teased. He has a natural arrogance that he cannot tap into as a babyface, and if this title were created, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, and Bobby Lashley wouldn't be able to compete for it, so Rush would fit in nicely as their representative of that division.
