10 Most Unique WWE Divas Gimmick Matches Ever

10. Bra And Panties Match

WWE.comWWE.comThe least unique of the matches on this list, the Bra and Panties match quickly became one of the most popular matches in all of WWE. The idea of two very hot, very beautiful young women rolling around the ring and ripping at each other's clothes was incredibly appealing to teenage boys and young men. Potentially seeing Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson in their bra and panties did not hurt. The match was a cheap way to kill some television time and still keep the largely male audience invested and responsive. Debuting in October 2000, the first Bra and Panties match was a modern, much more simple variation of the Evening Gown match, and pitted Trish Stratus against Lita for the fiery redhead's Women's Championship. Lita won, giving fans the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the smoking hot Stratus in her underwear. In the seven years that followed, Divas with limited skill sets such as Stacy Keibler, Torrie Wilson, Terri Runnels, Dawn Marie and Maria Kanellis competed in the gimmick bout. Most of those women ended up scurrying to cover up, humiliated by the outcome of the contest and beaten by a much more formidable opponent, but the fans ate it up. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xw20vb_lita-trish-stratus-vs-stacy-kiebler-torrie-wilson-wwf-invasion_sport As WWE moved toward a more family-friendly product, the Bra and Panties went the way of the dinosaurs. With increased attention paid to the content of Raw and SmackDown thanks to licensing agreements with Mattel and Linda McMahon's two congressional campaigns, the company opted to do away with any of the matches that heavily played up the sexuality of its female performers.
