10 Unique WWE WrestleMania Statistics
8. WrestleMania 2000 Had No Traditional Singles Bouts
One-on-one, one fall to a finish, pinfall, submission, disqualification or count-out. Every single WrestleMania has had at least one of these, except 2000. WrestleMania 2000 almost seemed determined to live up to it's name and have 2000 wrestlers on the show. It didn't quite make it but you can't say they didn't try.
The show was bloated with tag team matches, triple threats, multi-man ladder matches, a hardcore battle royale and a fatal 4-way with a McMahon in every corner. The effort of the powers that be to stuff as many wrestlers on the card for a payday made the event nigh-on unwatchable.
There was only one singles match on the card, and it didn't even require a win via pinfall. The catfight between The Kat and Terri Runnells featured these two terrible wrestlers fumble around the ring, slap each other and the match only ending when one of them was thrown out of the ring (not even over the top rope), followed by the traditional Val Venis, Mae Young and Fabulous Moolah hijinks. A truly unique match for this very underwhelming WrestleMania.
