10 Unmissable UFC Fights To Watch In October

We're getting a bit of a throwback fight on this card, as we've got a heavy handed brawler in Eryk Anders taking on a savvy submission specialist in Gerald Meerschaert. There's nothing wrong with striker vs. grappler fights in the modern era of the UFC, but this one could be a little more intense than usual.

Last time we saw Meerschaert, he had a strange bout with another heavy hitter in Trevor Giles. Despite the fight being on the ground, it looked like he wasn't really doing much other than occasionally sweeping him. However, in the third round, he locked up a nasty guillotine choke that put Giles to sleep. Although that was impressive and looked great, that sort of fighting style might not work against someone like Anders, who is tough as nails and isn't bad at defending takedowns from his opponents.

It really depends on who gets the fight to their area first. If Anders can keep the fight standing and avoid Meerschaert's sneaky submission attempts, then this could turn into a brutal beatdown. However, if Meerschaert can get the clinch or a body lock and wrap Anders up, we could see another man get put to sleep by the crafty grappler.
