4. Victor Jovica - NWA World Champion

Just like Jack Veneno and Carlos Colon before him, Victor Jovica was a Caribbean sensation. Originally born in Croatia, Jovica had relocated to the Caribbean before beginning his professional wrestling career. According to Ric Flair, in his To Be The Man autobiography, Jovica was a huge deal in Trinidad, where he was worshipped. On February 8, 1983 -- just one month after Carlos Colons unrecognized victory -- Jovica challenged Flair for the NWA World title in Couva, Trinidad. Just like Veneno and Colon, Jovica was able to upset the Nature Boy and steal away his coveted championship. However, the victory would be reversed just three days later. It was determined that Jovicas feet were on the ropes during the pinfall, and the title change was ruled invalid. According to Flair, Jovica and Colon -- the co-owners of WWC, along with Victor Quinones -- asked the Nature Boy to return to the Caribbean to do battle with Bruiser Brody. Flair refused as he had presumably grown tired of dealing with the riotous crowds in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad. Sadly, Jack Veneno, Carlos Colon, and Victor Jovica never got another shot at Flairs Ten Pounds of Gold.
