10 Unsung Heroes Of WCW

8. Psicosis

Right, so it's not like Psicosis was a jobber or anything, and he was one of the more prominently featured luchadors in WCW, but he's still vastly underrated, in my opinion. While it's probably true that Rey Mysterio would have gotten over no matter what, it's hard to say that he would have gotten over so big, so quickly, were it not for his matches with Psicosis. Psicosis was the perfect opponent for Rey. The two had a long history together, having squared off in AAA, ECW and WAR in Japan. By the time they arrived in a national promotion, they were ready to show the world what they could do. Rey stood out as a true star, thanks in no small part to Psicosis' willingness to take all of his offense and make it look the best he could. The lanky luchador could always be counted on to bust out something spectacular, like a diving senton from the top rope to the floor or his insane (or should that be 'psycho'?) over-the-top-rope tope suicida. Psicosis was unmasked by WCW on a 1999 episode of Nitro and was officially released as a cost-cutting measure in early 2000. Some thanks for years of diligent service, huh? The less said about his mid-2000s WWE run, the better.
