10 Untouchable WWE Stars Who Got Special Treatment
5. Charlotte Flair
Where to start with this one? By all accounts, Charlotte Flair is liked by many behind the curtain. She does come across as a likeable human being when chatting with the media too, and has been self-aware to the extreme during WWE-produced pieces in the past. However, it’s also true that she walks on water with upper management. That was the case when Vince was in charge, and it appears to be the same now Triple H is calling the shots.
Charlotte gatecrashed the ‘Mania 35 main event between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey even though nobody wanted it, and she appears allergic to working programs that aren’t contesting top titles. Sure, WWE's writers are the ones enabling all of this shoving down throats stuff, but that doesn’t save Flair from inclusion here. She 100% gets special treatment and has done since hitting the main roster.
WWE’s ill-advised point blank refusal to acknowledge the obvious fact she cannot be babyface is a sporadic pain to the fanbase as well. If Charlotte goes over fresh face Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41, then there might be a revolt! People have had enough of Flair's vanishing act (either for a mental breather or to get surgery) before returning to hog the spotlight in heavily promoted but rarely satisfying category A feuds.
This in-house pretence that she's capable of playing babyface needs to stop. Charlotte's silver spoon, aloof promo style makes her a natural heel who could still contribute to the product, but she's repeatedly prioritised out of the blue and trods on pushes that had been happening without her; Asuka, Rhea Ripley and maybe even now Stratton have all experienced it.
