10 Unwritten Rules Of Professional Wrestling

8. Never Headbut A Samoan

Professional wrestling is a world full of stereotypes, and more often than not there is something slightly offensive about them. This is even more pertinent when it comes to non-Americans in professional wrestling.

Frenchmen are arrogant, British people are snobbish and usually some sort of royalty, and anyone from Eastern Europe is evil.

Samoans? Well, more often than not they are simple savages, savages with extremely hard heads. Despite this being common knowledge in the professional wrestling since forever, most people facing off against a Samoan will at least try to headbutt their opponent.

This always results in the headbutter receiving the damage, and the Samoan going on the offensive. In recent memory, only members of the Wyatt Family have been able to gain any success utilising the headbutt against a Samoan.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
