3. Kickboxer
Batista, or Dave Bautista as he's now credited, is a great fit for action films. Before announcing himself to the movie world in Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista starred in action films like The Wrong Side Of Time (with Rob Van Dam and Ja Rule of all people) and The Man With The Iron Fists. Although the films were generally pretty bad, Batista was pretty good. He definitely has the physique, size and look required to be believable in action films. Bautista's next straight action film is a reboot of 1980s cult classic Kickboxer. Bautista will star alongside MMA great Georges St-Pierre and the star of the original film, Jean-Claude Van Damme. Bautista plays the film's villain - named Tong Po - who kills the brother of St-Pierre, leading to the UFC fighter to seek vengeance (with the help of Van-Damme). Pretty standard stuff, sure, but this has a lot of intrigue to it. Is it a step back for Bautista, in the same year as Spectre and not long after his celebrated performance in Guardians of the Galaxy?
