10 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 30)

1. Leaving Dad's Boots Where He'd Want Them

Above is an iconic shot.

Those are Brodie Lee's ring-worn boots, and they were left in-ring as Dynamite went off the air. It was a poignant visual, one that tugged on the heartstrings. Seeing young Brodie Lee with the now-retired TNT Title design draped over his shoulder as those boots stood in the foreground was powerful.

Cody Rhodes, Tony Khan, The Dark Order's 10 (Preston Vance) and Brodie's wife all flanked the youngster as the cameras faded into an honorary video package detailing Lee's career. This wasn't mere pro wrestling soap opera - it was a sobering reminder about the fragility of life, and how quickly things can be taken away.

Credit again to young Brodie Lee Jr for staying so strong during such a sad time. That little chap has strength most of us could only dream of, and it's unbelievably sweet that he was given the chance to book a card of matches in his dad's honour.
