10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (18 Aug)

3. The Bastard Bucks

Matt Jackson Jungle Boy

A different kind of drama than MJF vs. Chris Jericho was built in The Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express, which was more about Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus overcoming all the ancillary bullsh*t that comes with battling the Jackson brothers than anything else.

The Bucks taunted and belittled the babyfaces at every opportunity. Flanked by the rest of the Super Elite (sans Kenny Omega) as a safety blanket, they took chances knowing they were could probably get away with them - until they didn't. Jurassic Express wiping out the entire Elite to score nearfalls created several heart-in-mouth moments here, and showcasing the babyfaces with great spots like Jungle Boy nailing an avalanche brainbuster from his giant partner's shoulders get them even more over than they already are.

The extended crew played into an earned finish. Omega finally appeared, smashing Marko Stunt with a chair. Christian Cage brawled him to the back. JB was eventually left all alone with his partner stuck outside, eating a BTE Trigger as a consequence.

A lengthy post-match beatdown saw Cage dragged back down and put in the dirt like everybody else. Later, the jubilant Super Elite were shot down when Tony Schiavone confirmed the upcoming Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament - and a steel cage match for the Bucks.

They'll get what's coming to them soon enough.
