10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts (May 5)
6. Moxley & Kingston Are P*SSED
Kenny Omega and MT Nakazawa's opener with Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston was an effective story-based match built largely around the World Champion's cowardice, with Don Callis announcing before the bell that Omega wasn't in the building - and wasn't going to wrestle.
Hacked off, Moxley and Kingston hit the ring, ready to batter Nakazawa. Omega then pulled the ruse by jumping then from behind with the belt. Though the heels ended up controlling long portions, Kenny was isolated outside when the tide turned, not taking Kingston's invitation to return to the ring. He bailed out and left Nak to eat a combination half-and-half suplex/lariat for the loss.
The Young Bucks, Good Brothers, and Omega joined the post-match beatdown, hinting, once more, that it'll be Moxley and Kingston vs. the Jacksons at Double Or Nothing.
This was the definition of a good, solid, TV wrestling match. Designed to tell a story rather than blow you away, it was a fine use of Nakazawa as a goober stooge and Kingston as a seller, with Eddie taking much of the beatdown before Moxley got the tag.
