10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite: Road Rager (7 July)

6. Blood Money Britt

Britt Baker
AEW

Certain corners of the internet will no doubt respond to Britt Baker's Saudi Arabian "bloody money" line in a very normal and measured manner, as they always do, but this was an excellent promo from the Women's World Champion, who was all kinds of p*ssed off after last week.

Baker was at her most paranoid. Claiming she and Rebel had been forced into a match with a pensioner (Vickie Guerrero) and a conspirator and "danger to society" (Nyla Rose), she accused Tony Khan of only putting the match together as a favour for Vickie, who had brought him Andrade El Idolo. Khan should feel terrible, she asserted. Baker and Rebel were forced into "unsafe working conditions" and Rebel, "an innocent person," got hurt in a "clearly calculated attack."

Britt is, of course, speaking complete nonsense. Rebel's knee exploded as she broke up a pin and Baker didn't "almost die" after being put through a table. This is what makes her character, though. D.M.D. is AEW's queen of spin.

And as for the Saudi Arabia line? That's simple. Don't make shady deals if you don't want to be called out for them.
