10 Ups & 12 Downs For WWE In 2020 (So Far)

1. The Universal Title Scene

Brock Lesnar releasing his stranglehold on the WWE Universal Championship had many excited in 2019, though a dismal 2020 has left the strap feeling less important than ever before.

The belt started its year around the waist of a popular performer that fans wanted to root for and rally behind. Then Super ShowDown 2020 happened and Bray Wyatt dropped the Universal to Goldberg, with the hope being that the veteran would defend against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36. The global health crisis scuppered this, however, forcing Goldberg to face Braun Strowman instead, and 'The Monster Among Men' has since partaken in a listless run with a hokey Wyatt feud and a horrendously unfunny one with The Miz and John Morrison, leaving the belt lagging.

Strowman doesn't feel like the top champion on WWE's leading brand. He should, and it's the promotion's fault that he doesn't.
