10 Ups & 12 Downs For WWE In 2020 (So Far)

5. The Continued, Dangerous Push Of Nia Jax

On recent evidence, the misfiring Nia Jax should not be a candidate for elevation towards the Raw Women's Championship scene.

It's not because the quality isn't there, though 'The Irresistible Force' somehow contrived to drag a peak-form Asuka to two clangers in a row, or the way the promotion has presented her character. No, it's because Nia Jax keeps hurting people.

The first Kairi Sane incident was troubling, particularly as it sounded like the diminutive victim was vocally protesting the buckle bomb before Jax bounced her head off the bottom rung. The second, in which Sane suffered a nasty cut after being lobbed into the ring steps, is easier to pass off as an accident, though the excessive force used suggests extreme clumsiness.

There is now more than enough evidence to state that Jax is an unsafe worker whose lack of finesse is a danger to her fellow wrestlers. Pulled from developmental far too early, she should return to the Performance Center until these things stop happening.
