10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2020 (Part 1)

1. Great Match, Wrong Result

The main event Unsanctioned Match between Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan was fantastic - more on the match itself a little later on.

No matter what you think about it, there was no reason as to why 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' should have come out as the victor of the match. Sami's only just debuted his new character, which marked his first Impact appearance since dropping the World Championship to Tessa Blanchard at Hard To Kill, but aside from that, 'The Draw' just shouldn't have suffered a loss to the Hall of Fame inductee.

Taking a closer look into things, there were two main disappointments from the loss. Number one, Sami lost by passing out to an Ankle Lock, which perhaps rips away some of his reputation as the most devious member of the Impact roster. Secondly, since Sami turned on the rest of oVe during the bout after they tried to assist him, having Callihan then lose makes it seem as if we're meant to believe Sami can't win matches without having these guys by his side. That couldn't be further from the truth.

It now marks the second time that Ken Shamrock has defeated an oVe member (current or former) on a big platform, the first of which came in the form of Madman Fulton this past January. Yes, it's amazing to see the shape the man's in at 56 years of age, but older guys are - in a preferred scenario, at least - supposed to put the younger talent over. Not the opposite way around.
