10 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Nov 20)

Downs...

2. The Wrong Move?

Kay Lee Ray Dakota Kai

Kay Lee Ray's battle with usurped WarGames participant Dakota Kai wasn't the most captivating clash on this week's explosive edition of NXT - to the point where it felt as though the brand might have made a misstep with the booking after all by the time it had concluded.

A follow-through with a run-in from the SmackDown and Raw women offered one fabulous standoff between former partners (now on divergent paths) Kairi Sane and Io Shirai, but otherwise lived down to the expectations set by the preceding match and the first attempt at this tension on last Friday's SmackDown.

An odd choice for the last word big pop spot, Nikki Cross and her dustbin lid struck fear into the hearts of all left standing as the black-and-gold brand rushed to a commercial break. Far away from the mass brawls bookending this show, the breather was all-too-welcome.
