10 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jun 10)

Jon Moxley

The Jon Moxley vs. Brian Cage feud heated up big time last night, finally delivering the kind of violence promised in recent promos and staredowns.

Alex Marvez caught up with the AEW World Champion outside. A typically believable, badass Moxley promo followed, as he said he had no time or patience for people who run their mouth and think they can beat him, promising to pop Cage's head like a pimple at Fyter Fest. Taz then came through with the aggression, getting right in Mox's face before Cage trucked him from off-camera. 'The Machine' jumped the champ, pounded away on him, and went nuts, with Taz able to talk him out of a powerbomb onto the concrete, but not the slam that put Moxley through a car window.

This was played up as if Cage wasn't totally under Taz's control. A new wrinkle has now been added to that relationship, though everyone was excellent here, with Mox and Taz cutting good promos and Cage a monster. The escalation was most welcome: another staredown wouldn't have cut it.
