10 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 21)

5. 24/7 Chaos

The belt itself might be ugly as sin but the 24/7 Championship has already brought a sorely-missed chaos factor back to WWE programming, with its madcap segments delivering boatloads of fun throughout last night's SmackDown in particular.

R-Truth spent his evening on the run. He left Raw with the belt, and decided to disguise himself with a blonde wig and crop top to evade the company's midcard. This led to him being chased away from Carmella's bout with Mandy Rose and a bunch of different backstage interactions, with The B-Team bickering over who'd take his title, Drake Maverick huffing and puffing, Jinder Mahal almost stealing the strap, along with Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar showing up from 205 Live.

This gimmick is a hoot. It gets people on television, provides a few laughs, and breaks the show up. It isn't to be taken seriously and therefore shouldn't be. Just sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the mayhem.
