10 Ups & 6 Downs For WWE In 2023 (So Far)

4. Bianca Belair’s Fading Fortunes

Bianca's babyface run ran out of steam.

WWE outright failed to furnish Belair with top challengers that'd prolong her Raw Women's Title reign or make it feel must-see, and live crowd began losing interest in her character as a result. Then, the company stuck Bianca on SmackDown during the Draft, but kept the Raw belt on her.

Belair has since lost the thing to Asuka at Night Of Champions, and most seem to believe a slow-burn heel turn is on the cards. That could fix things. "Could", but it's not guaranteed. WWE has shouted from rooftops about Bianca for so long without any meaningful character development though, so it's a risk they have to take.

Seeing someone so talented get pushed to the background hasn't been fun, to be fair. Belair didn't really do anything wrong, but still heard a smattering of boos ring out during her matches against women like Asuka and even Alexa Bliss.
