10 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2019

1. The Club Cheats To Win

As much as Ricochet deserves a nice, long run with a title to establish himself on the main roster, you can’t deny AJ Styles reuniting with Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows.

The Club can be a formidable force on Raw, but losing Sunday night would have hampered their ascent. So it made sense for Styles to win the United States Championship with the help of his running buddies, solidifying his standing and setting us up for hopefully a good run for this reformed heel stable.

The match itself was really good, with Ricochet countering nearly everything AJ and his cronies threw at him, almost overcoming the odds, but ultimately falling to Styles after Gallows interfered. Styles as US champ with two henchmen could make for some interesting TV on Raw, provided the new regime decides to let them flourish.

Hopefully, there’s also more goodness in Ricochet’s future, and given how this match shaped up, you’ve actually got to believe that.
