10 Very Evil, Very Fascinating Facts About AEW's Newest Signing Danhausen!
1. Danhausen Has Horrifying Origins
Drawing on his love of horror films for inspiration, Danhausen’s original incarnation differed a lot from humorous fellow seen on-screen today.
The pro wrestler horrified fans with a series of creepy, skin-crawling vignettes that concluded with him emerging from a sheet of plastic like some kind of monster out of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. As Danhausen would later say in an interview with Chris Jericho on his Talk is Jericho podcast,
“Nobody really cares just being a good wrestler. You must find your thing, and Danhausen’s thing was to embrace his evil side. So, we did as such. We became very evil for a couple of years, at least...did some things that people maybe liked, and then Danhausen, again, decided to trick the folks and add some nice.”
Danhausen would go on to discuss the development of his now-iconic makeup. Turning to horror icons such as Pazuzu from The Exorcist, he would eventually settle on the current design, which has helped him stand out from his peers.
