10 Very Rare Brock Lesnar Matches You Have To See

1. Randy Orton (Nov 27, 2001)

And last but not least, we have the Brock Lesnar dark match that the WWE is ignoring even to this day.

At the time of writing, Lesnar’s currently set to face Randy Orton at this year’s SummerSlam PPV. The company are touting this as a match that we’ve somehow never seen on PPV, which is true. But they’re also claiming that this is a feud 14 years in the making, which isn’t quite as accurate; their history actually dates back further than that as the two first met in a dark segment as early as 2001.

You’ll have to excuse the poor video quality, but the match itself is at least a little better. And even when the action’s not quite of the highest standard, it’s still cool to see the humble origins of two of the biggest stars in the industry today.

For what it’s worth, Lesnar was the winner on this occasion; clearly he was still working on his finisher, though, as he ended this one with a simple scoop Powerslam. Somehow I don’t think we’ll be seeing a repeat of that at SummerSlam in a few weeks’ time.

Still, for its historical significance and current relevance, this is a rare Brock Lesnar match that you simply have to see — despite what the WWE may say.
