10 Very Rare Brock Lesnar Matches You Have To See

7. Chris Benoit (Dec 4, 2003)

Of course, there was once a time when working house shows was par for the course for Lesnar. During his initial run in the early 2000s, he was on the same schedule as everyone else — the grind of which ultimately contributed to him washing his hands of the business.

One of these early-career house show dates took place in Seoul, South Korea, and pitted Lesnar against Chris Benoit. This particular meeting came just days after a near 20-minute battle on SmackDown, which remains the only time these two ever met in singles action on WWE television.

The match in Korea wasn’t necessarily as good as the one they had on SmackDown. But given the circumstances that would eventually follow, these spliced-together clips are some of the only footage left in existence of two of pro wrestling’s in-ring greats going at it.

Much of the match focused on Benoit’s attempts to make Lesnar submit, after he’d already managed to do just that at Survivor Series a couple of weeks prior. And this time Benoit would again force his opponent to tap, but typically the referee wasn’t looking. That allowed Lesnar to hit a low blow and pick up a cheap 3-count for the victory.
