10 Very Rare Brock Lesnar Matches You Have To See

5. Edge (Oct 26, 2002)

One for our readers from the US now, as we arrive at a match that took place exclusively on UK pay-per-view.

This one comes from the 2002 Rebellion show from Manchester, England, and had the odd stipulation of being a handicap match for the Undisputed title. And not only that, but the champion was on the team of two — Lesnar had Paul Heyman by his side as he went up against a lonesome Edge.

Naturally, though, this was essentially little more than a one-on-one match, with the occasional interruption from Heyman.

A patient build-up saw Edge assume the role of plucky face to perfection. Lesnar seemed unable to get any of his usual offense in, with most of his attacks being reversed into pinning attempts. He soon began to wear the challenger down, though, with a variety of submissions — including a very unorthodox split-legged Boston Crab of sorts.

Once the action picked up the pace, it was a pretty awesome match-up. Edge almost pinned Heyman at one point — which would have earned him the title — and there was a pretty nasty crossbody bump for the unfortunate Mike Chioda.

It was Heyman’s presence that proved to be the difference, though. He handed Lesnar a steel chair that was used to stun Edge for long enough for Brock to hit an F5 and score the decisive pin.
