Another Vince McMahon/Ric Flair clash would main event the final episode of SmackDown before the commencement of the original 2002 Brand Extension, as the 'co-owners' would partner up with Kurt Angle and Triple H respectively before the competitive era of the shows began.

Working in dress trousers without his usual wrestling gear, Flair would team with his future Evolution buddy for the very first time, building on a real-life friendship 'The Nature Boy' has since commented helped restore his in-ring confidence.

With three of the top wrestlers in company history and a serviceable fourth man in McMahon, the match was a rewarding hidden gem, with Vince able to pick the bones of a beaten down Flair during the heat segment, even locking on the figure four leglock before 'The Dirtiest Player In The Game' was able to reverse.

Despite Triple H and Ric Flair asserting their dominance in the closing stages, a late attack from Flair's WrestleMania rival (and Triple H's future opponent) The Undertaker saw the villains pick up victory to give Vince first blood in the new Raw vs. SmackDown conflict.
