10 Vince McMahon Matches You Completely Forgot About

5. Vince McMahon Vs. CM Punk

Vince McMahon CM Punk
WWE

A controversial contest buried in the middle of CM Punk's historic WWE Title reign, the two squared off in a 2012 Raw main event after Punk interrupted a 'State of the WWE' address from the boss earlier in the broadcast.

Claiming that the owner had a distinct lack of respect for him, Punk goaded Vince into a match for later in the show, then jumped him to gain an advantage at the start of the contest itself.

Dominant in the early going, Punk wryly screamed "What a manoeuvre" in Vince's face as he dissected him by the announce table, but Vince miraculously recovered after Punk hot-dogged on a Go2Sleep attempt on the arena floor.

The change in momentum led to a wholly improbable section in which Vince imposed his will on Punk with a flurry of punches, then held the terrified champion at bay with a kendo stick.

Claiming a stick of his own, Punk faced off with Vince but somehow lost the sword-fight, and fell to his knees begging off from the Chairman.

It was a ploy from the wily titleholder. Sticking McMahon with a low blow, Punk battered McMahon with both sticks, but was still unable to claim victory, when run-ins from John Cena and Ryback punctuated the clash.
